Chrome Extension — Capture Ideas Anywhere
Great content starts with great inputs. The ContentEngine Chrome extension lets you capture ideas, quotes, articles, and inspiration from any webpage — with one click, a keyboard shortcut, or a right-click — and send them straight to your content library.
Five Ways to Capture
Multiple capture methods so you can save ideas however you prefer, without breaking your browsing flow.
One-Click Capture
Click the ContentEngine icon on any webpage to save the current page title, URL, selected text, and your notes as a content idea. The capture popup appears inline without leaving the page.
LinkedIn Feed Integration
A native-looking "Save to CE" button is injected directly into every LinkedIn post in your feed. Capture inspiring posts, comments, and articles without disrupting your scrolling workflow.
Right-Click Context Menu
Select any text on any webpage, right-click, and choose "Save to ContentEngine" from the context menu. The selected text, page title, and URL are captured automatically with a toast confirmation.
Keyboard Shortcuts
Cmd+Shift+E opens the full capture popup for detailed saves with tags and notes. Cmd+Shift+S performs an instant quick save of the current selection or page. Both shortcuts work on any webpage.
Floating Selection Toolbar
When you highlight text on any page, a small floating toolbar appears near your selection with a save button. One click captures the highlighted text along with its source context.
Get Started in 3 Steps
From install to first capture in under two minutes.
Search for "ContentEngine" in the Chrome Web Store or use the direct link from your dashboard. Click "Add to Chrome" and confirm the permissions. The extension icon appears in your toolbar immediately.
Navigate to Settings then API Tokens in your ContentEngine dashboard. Generate a new token and paste it into the extension popup. This securely connects the extension to your account and content library.
Browse the web as usual. When you find something inspiring, use any capture method: click the icon, right-click, use a keyboard shortcut, or tap the floating toolbar. Every capture lands in your content library.
What Gets Captured
Every capture is rich with context so you can turn it into content later.
